Shortly after 2:15 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, officers from the Annapolis Police Department were called to the unit block of Maryland Avenue, where there were reports of the front door of a store that had been shattered to allow burglars to gain access to the building.
Upon arrival, the officers found the door still dead-bolted to its frame, but the center portion of glass had been shattered, and a witness advised investigators that he was woken up from a nearby apartment and when he looked outside, saw a gray sedan parked in the street.
The witness also said that he saw two people who he believed broke the front glass door and were stealing items on Thursday.
Police say that the suspects were described as having slim builds, with one wearing a Nike-brand hoodie and dark clothing. He stated that the driver's voice "sounded older when shouting orders."
The owner of the store told officers that she believes that at least $100,000 worth of merchandise was stolen, according to the department.
It remains under investigation.
Anyone with information regarding the burglary has been asked to contact the department's tip line by calling (410) 280-CLUE.
